The Putnam County Midgets and St. Joseph Christian Lions, in the first year of high school baseball in the Grand River Conference, had matching 7-2 records, tying for the 2019 championship in the GRC. Continuing with its own strong boys athletic year, the Pattonsburg Panthers finished to place third, followed by the Milan Wildcats and North Andrew Cardinals, tying at 5-4 in fourth place. Maysville and South Harrison tied at 4-5, with Braymer and Trenton both at 3-5 and King City in the basement at 0-9.
The GRC announced first team, second team, and honorable mention baseball selections on Friday afternoon, with three young men named unanimous first team selections, in Putnam County seniors Levi Fowler and Taylor Tilden, along with St. Joseph Christian senior Levi Glidewell.
Others named to the first team are Gage Pearson of Putnam County and Dylan Zug of St. Joseph Christian, with Trenton’s only first-team pick going to junior Sam Schilling.
Braymer’s representative on the first team of Keaton O’Dell, with the remainder of the squad made up of Maysville’s Zane Smith, North Andrew’s Nic Crets and Orlo Simmons, Pattonsburg’s Connor Ireland, South Harrison’s Cody Weller, and the Milan duo of Quinn Doak and Brett Sayre.
