The Princeton Tigers outlasted Grand River Conference rival South Harrison on Monday night 44-37, in the final game of the first night of action from the Albany Invitational Tournament. The win sends Princeton to a semifinal contest against Pattonsburg on Thursday night at 9:15, after the Panthers took a 62-55 win over Albany on Tuesday night. South Harrison drops into a 9:15 game on Wednesday night against Albany on the consolation side of the bracket.
The Platte Valley boys rolled past King City in Monday night’s opening round 71-13, with Worth County, in a much more competitive Tuesday night tilt, escaping the upset bid of Stanberry, winning 48-47.
In girls first round action from AHS, the Princeton Lady Tigers lost to Albany on Monday night 52-40, while the Platte Valley Lady Eagles were a 50-18 winner over King City. On Tuesday night, Worth County hammered Pattonsburg 71-29, with Stanberry rolling South Harrison 81-8.
