Just prior to the start of the fall sports season, Princeton R-5 will recognize its student-athletes at both the junior high and high school levels at a “Fall Spirit Night” event at Eddie Allen Field at 6 o’clock on Wednesday night, August 24th.
Tiger squads to receive recognition will be football, softball, girls golf, cross country, cheer, and band.
Food at the event will be sponsored by RMEN, Kurt and April Meighen, with opportunities for Tiger fans to purchase sports passes, buy “Tiger Paws” and enter raffles. Terri Kelley will take cutout pictures at the conclusion of the night, while the Booster Club continues its membership drive.
Princeton’s openers for the first week of the fall sports season will be the Tiger football team hosting the Mid-Buchanan Dragons on Friday, August 26th; with Lady Tiger softball at the Bill Hill Memorial Tournament in Albany on Saturday, August 27th. Princeton’s softball home opener will be an early-season GRC showdown with Maysville on Tuesday, August 30th, with a non-conference trip to Schuyler County one day (8/29) earlier.
