The Polo Lady Panthers jumped on Trenton pitching early with a RBI single by Hanna Vaught in the first inning, followed by RBI hits by Jenee Qualman, Kenley Moore, Chloe Gilbert, Vaught, and Jade Misel in a 6-run second inning, with the Lady Panthers beating the Lady Bulldogs on Thursday night by a score of 11-1.
Vaught grabbed the victory for Polo, going six innings with four strikeouts, allowing four hits and one run, scored by Shay Westerhof of THS.
Avery Clark took the loss for Trenton, going 1 1/3 innings. Polo, in total, amassed 11 hits in the Grand River Conference win. Polo beat Trenton in the JV contest by a score of 2-1. Katelyn Clark and Tymber Cooksey led the Bulldog offense, each win doubles in the game.
The South Harrison Lady Bulldogs rallied late to defeat Milan on Thusrday night, clinching the GRC’s Eastern Division championship with a 6-2 win in Bethany. In other GRC East finals, Putnam County downed Princeton 6-1, while Maysville shutout Gallatin, 2-0.
