The North Central Missouri College Pirates played a pair of games against the visiting Longview Community College Lakers on Tuesday afternoon at Burleigh Grimes Field, dropping the opener 9-0 before winning the nightcap in a run-rule contest, 10-0.
Totaling just four hits in the opener, the Pirates lost for the 19th game this season. Freshman Curtis Mitchell had two hits, two runs, and an RBI in Game 2, with freshman Angel Reyes scattering four hits in four shutout innings for the Pirates, as NCMC won for the 16th game this season.
NCMC’s baseball team is next in action on Thursday afternoon, playing Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois.
