The North Central Missouri College Pirates, on Thursday afternoon, traveled to Parkville, Missouri to play the junior varsity squad from Park University, leaving town with an 11-6 win to improve to 14-32 on the season.
Amexem Hamm continued his late-season surge of strong pitching for North Central, firing five innings of two-run baseball for the visitors, walking six, but striking out five.
Shortstop Enrique Madera continued to assault opponent pitches, with a 4 for 5 effort, with two runs scored and two RBI’s, breaking the school record of 131 career hits (set by Landon Figg) with a third inning single.
The Pirates will host St. Louis Community College in a critical Region 16 regular-season ending four game series this weekend. Saturday will bring “Sophomore Recognition Day” to Burleigh Grimes Field, with a first pitch set for 1 o’clock, followed by two more games on Sunday.
