The Northwest Missouri State University men’s basketball team has won three consecutive NCAA Division Two national titles and four national championships in the past five seasons in which a national tournament has been held.
There was no national tournament in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The latest championship is from a 67-58 victory over Augusta (GA) on Saturday afternoon at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Guard Trevor Hudgins led the Bearcats with 31 points, including 22 in the first half.
Northwest finished the year at 34-5. Augusta was 33-4.
The three consecutive national tournament championship is a Division Two first.
