North Harrison High School in Eagleville will utilize its two fields in hosting the 2020 HDC Conference Softball Tournament on Saturday, with seven area schools making up the field for the annual events. The host Lady Shamrocks have the top seed for the tourney, followed by Mercer, Winston, Tri-County, Gilman City, East Harrison, and Grundy R-V.
With a seven-team bracket, the top half of the bracket, featuring four teams, will be in the traditional “bracketed format”, with quarterfinal games in the mid to late morning, a consolation semifinal at 12:30 and a championship semifinal at 2:15. Three teams, those being Winston, East Harrison, and Mercer, will be placed in a round-robin three game competition in pool play, with the top record in the group advancing to the 5:45 championship game, second place to the third place game at 4 PM, and the third-place team in pool play in the consolation final at 4 PM.
