The Trenton Lady Bulldog varsity defeated the south-side dwelling Benton Cardinals 6-3, and the north-siders from St. Joseph, the Fighting Irish of St. Joseph Lafayette, 8-1, completing a long but successful afternoon at the Noyes Tennis Complex in St. Joseph.
Against Benton, all of the six victories for the Lady Bulldogs came in fairly dominating fashion, while the Benton triumphs (two in singles, one in doubles) were by a combined score of 24-11.

The Trenton match with St. Joseph Benton had been scheduled for Monday, September 24th, but was moved six nights on the schedule, due to Benton’s team having a scheduling conflict for this upcoming Monday. This also allowed the Trenton junior varsity to gain five doubles and five singles matches, valuable experience to bring into the 2019 season.

Trenton’s varsity was dominant against Lafayette, claiming an 8-1 win over the Fighting Irish in the Lady Bulldogs second dual of the day. Lafayette’s only victory came at #1 singles, with Rowan Davis defeating Elle Neal 8-4. Trenton Coach Tammy Ockenfels bumped up the Lady Bulldog roster by one position, taking Emma Gilham out of the rotation against the Irish, noting that Gilham had injured her ankle on Monday night against Maryville. Gilham did team with Lexi Gott at #1 doubles, defeat Davis and Sumner of Lafayette 8-1. Mallory Sole, in the varsity dual, picked up her first individual win at the varsity level, winning at #6 singles, 8-1 over Chloe Morris.
