Less than a month after decommitting from the University of Michigan due to an admissions issue involving academic credits, St. Louis native Caleb Love is bound for the University of Arizona, choosing the Pac-12 school over Gonzaga and Texas.
Love transferred over the offseason from North Carolina to Michigan, before decommitting from the Wolverines before ever putting on the Maize and Blue uniform in Ann Arbor. While early indications were that Missouri and Indiana were favorites to add Love to their roster, later reports, just prior to the Arizona announcement, had indicated a shift to the Wildcats, Bulldogs, and Longhorns, and a cooling on the potential of the Tigers or Hoosiers. Love played three seasons at North Carolina, helping to lead the Tar Heels to the 2022 national championship game. He played prep ball at CBC (Christian Brothers College) High School in St. Louis.
Love is a likely starter for a potential powerhouse at the U of A that will include Pelle Larsson, Kylan Boswell, and Alabama transfer Jaden Bradley.
