The Norborne Lady Pirates, seeded third coming into the Keytesville Tournament, took home the championship trophy on Saturday afternoon, beating Prairie Home, 41-35. The Lady Pirates are joined as Keytesville champions by the Prairie Home boys, who beat Higbee 84-70.
The third place boys game, played on Saturday afternoon, went to the hosts from Keytesville, 50-33 over Brunswick.
The Friday night finals from Keytesville saw the Higbee girls win third place over Southwest Livingston, 60-58, while the Southwest boys won the consolation final over Bevier, 57-54.
On Saturday night, the Stanberry Bulldogs split the championship games of the King City Invitational Tournament, with the Lady Bulldogs claiming a 49-30 victory over the DeKalb Lady Tigers, while the SHS boys, continuing their spirited multi-sport rivalry with GRC West rival North Andrew, lost to the Cardinals, 55-48.
The South Holt boys won third place over Stewartsville, 55-41, with the North Andrew girls taking down King City for third, 43-32.
In Friday night’s consolation finals, the South Holt girls clipped Maysville 47-46, while the Maysville boys won at arch-rival King City, 59-56.
