The St. Joseph Sports Commission has organized a high school basketball classic to be played December 21st and 22nd at the St. Joseph Civic Arena. Officially called the “Inaugural St. Joseph Area Sports Hall of Fame” Holiday Hoops Classic, the field will feature all five St. Joseph city schools and with a sprinkling of other area teams.
Twelve high school games will take place over the two day period, including an all-city showdown between Central High School and Lafayette High School and an anticipated Top 5 girls game between Schuyler County and Bishop LeBlond. Two boys teams that each won over 20 games a season ago will duel, as LeBlond plays regional rival West Platte, in addition to St. Joseph Benton drawing Kansas Citiy area power Lincoln Prep.
Ticket information will be announced in the late fall, with sales organized through the box office at Civic Arena.
