Kansas City Chiefs’ recent acquisition, defensive lineman Charles Omenihu, will face a delayed debut with the team due to a suspension imposed by the NFL. Omenihu has been suspended for the initial six weeks of the 2023 season for a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy.
Omenihu, who previously played for the San Francisco 49ers, was subject to an arrest in January 2023 on charges related to domestic violence. As a result of the suspension, he will be ineligible to participate in Chiefs’ games during the specified period.
The defensive lineman had recently inked a two-year contract with the Chiefs, indicating the team’s investment in his potential contributions. However, his suspension will necessitate patience from both Omenihu and the Chiefs organization before he can take the field for his new team.
