The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates scored the basketball consistently, but struggled to keep their opponents off the board, in falling in games on Friday night and Saturday afternoon from the Miami-Dade College campus in south Florida.
On Friday night, the Lady Pirates fell behind the Miami-Dade Sharks by nine points after one quarter, and despite playing even ball through the last three quarters, fell by a final score of 94-85.

North Central’s women, according to Coach Jenni Croy, “battled hard against a Miami-Dade team that started three women at six feet tall”. Coach Croy added her team “played scrappy and never gave up, representing NCMC well.”
On Saturday afternoon, the Lady Pirates returned to Miami-Dade to play Broward College. Against a team currently in first place in Florida’s Southern Conference, North Central came up on the short end of an 83-71 final score. Lamp and Eaton both scored 21 points for NCMC, while Hurley and Young both scored 10.
