The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates opened the fall exhibition season with a pair of seven-inning contests on Wednesday afternoon on the campus of Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa.
NCMC lost the opener 7-6 but had a solid outing in the second go-around, beating the Lady Spartans, 8-2. The Lady Pirates, on Sunday, will travel back into Iowa to play in the Grandview University Classic.
In comments to NCMCPirates.com, Coach Steve Richman, on Wednesday’s games, said “We played about what I would think for the first game out. We did some good things and need to work on some others. I thought our pitching was solid. Our hitting needs some work but it’s coming along. Overall, it was a successful day!”
