In addition to two strong victories over the weekend (vs. Iowa Western and Des Moines) that boosted North Central Missouri College’s women’s basketball program to an all-time high of #5 in Monday’s D-2 national poll, Lady Pirate freshman Jessica Reeter (Chillicothe, MO) has been named the Player of the Week in NJCAA Division Two.
The honor for Reeter was announced by the national office on Wednesday morning, with the Lady Pirates recognized for their Saturday win over then #7 ranked Iowa Western. NCMC, ranked #10 in the country to open the season, moved up five spots in Monday’s poll.
Reeter, who has stepped seamlessly into the starting point guard position previously held by the graduated Nora Ford, averaged 20.6 points per game in the unbeaten week for the Lady Pirates.
North Central Missouri College will head to the Iowa Western Community Classic in Council Bluffs, Iowa this weekend, putting their 4-0 record on the line against McCook (NE) Community College at 1 o’clock on Friday afternoon, followed by a contest against Central (NE) Community College at 11 o’clock on Saturday morning.
The Lady Pirates and Pirates return to the Ketcham Community Center on Tuesday night, November 21st, hosting John Wood (IL) Community College at 5:30 and 7:30.
