North Central Missouri College baseball coach Donnie Hillerman has announced the signing of New York City infielder and pitcher Albert Gonzalez to the Pirates 2019 recruiting class.
The addition of Gonzalez to the NCMC roster continues recent success in the “Big Apple” for North Central, as Gonzalez will travel to Trenton, following in the footsteps of current Pirate pitcher Alex Reyes, who is expected to be a top-of-the-line starter for the pitching staff in 2019.
A native of the Bronx, Gonzalez plays club ball for the Sayo Greys. Coach Hillerman credits Greys Manager Darrel Tiebout as a key figure in the NCMC recruiting success in New York, calling him a “trusted recruiting contact”.
Hillerman commented on Gonzalez, “We are excited to have Albert choose to be a Pirate. He shows nice arm strength as well as plenty of pop in his bat. The physical ability he possesses will allow him to really improve during his time at NCMC. We look for him to be very impactful for us the next two years!”
