North Central Missouri College has announced the addition of NJCAA-sanctioned women’s flag football to start with its inaugural season of Fall 2025. The decision to add the sport was bolstered by a $10,000 grand awarded by the NJCAA Foundation, NFL Flag, and Reigning Champs Experiences.
Commenting on the campus-wide excitement for the addition of flag football, NCMC Athletics Director Nate Gamet said, “I am very excited to be a part of the women’s flag football movement. Being the first JUCO in Missouri to offer this sport is a huge success for NCMC, and I took forward to my role in expanding the sport across Region 16.”
As Gamet mentioned, NCMC will be the first junior college in Missouri to launch a women’s flag football program, with the school hoping to serve as a trailblazer for a sport that will be in the Summer Olympics program for the first-time at the Los Angeles games in 2028.
