North Central Missouri College has hired former Central Wyoming College assistant Taylor Lavery to be the new lead assistant for head coach Jeremy Esry and the Pirates nationally ranked men’s basketball program.  Lavery will take the position vacated by Brandon Gossett, who departed North Central earlier this year for an opening at Emporia State University.

Lavery will be involved in all areas of the NCMC program, notably day-to-day operations, recruiting, opponent scouting, players development, in addition to organizing and building travel plans.

For the past two seasons at CWC, Lavery was on the bench for a Rustlers team that went a combined 31-31.  In 2017-2018, Lavery was an assistant at Holy Names University in Oakland, California.

As a player, Lavery had a superb four-year career split between JUCO Division 2 Kishwaukee College and NCAA Division Two University of Minnesota-Duluth.  As a senior at UMD, Lavery finished eighth in scoring in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, with 17.8 points per game, hitting 84.1 percent of his free throws in the process, earning a spot on the All-NSIC team.  At Kishwaukee, Lavery was named All-Region in both his freshman and sophomore years.

The native of Indiana has a Bachelors of Arts in Communications degree with a Minor in Business from UMD, with an Associate in Arts from Kishwaukee.
