The Chillicothe Mudcats had an impressive victory against the Sedalia Bombers on Friday night, winning 16-1 in a seven-inning game due to the run rule. The team showcased strong pitching and an explosive offense throughout the game.
Starting pitcher RHP Justice Ramirez delivered a solid performance, going five innings and allowing only one run while striking out five batters. He earned the win for the Mudcats. RHP Jaydon Cabezudo took over in the sixth inning and pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout. In the seventh inning, LHP Dylan McIntyre, a new addition to the Mudcats, entered the game and stranded three runners while striking out the final batter to secure the win.
The Mudcats’ offense was firing on all cylinders, with contributions from multiple players. Standout performances came from Noah Hata, Luca Boscarino, and Nathan MacLaren. Hata went 2-2 with two RBIs, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. He also set a team record with seven consecutive hits. Boscarino had a perfect night at the plate, going 5-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. MacLaren contributed with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored, going 2-5 at the plate.
The Mudcats’ strong performance in this game has given them a boost and improved their record to 9-13. They are proving to be a competitive team and could pose a challenge to other teams in their division if underestimated.
In their next games, the Chillicothe Mudcats will host the Clarinda A’s in a doubleheader on Saturday night. The first game is scheduled for 5:05 PM, and RHP Karter Muck is set to start. In the second game, RHP Caleb Bergman is expected to take the mound for the Mudcats.
