The University of Missouri men’s basketball program has signed Salt Lake Community College sophomore Ed Chang was a transfer for the 2020-2021 season. Chang, a 6’8″ forward from Papillion, Nebraska, is expected to join outside shooting from the wing position for the Tigers.
Last season at SLCC, Chang played with the 4th ranked team in the country in NJCAA Division One, for a squad with a 29-4 record and a perfect record in the Scenic West Conference.
Chang shot 41.4 percent from the three-point line for Salt Lake, averaging 8.2 points per game. In a win over Colorado Northwest, Chang hit 23 points, including 6 of 12 three-point shots.
As a junior at Papillon-La Vista High School in the Omaha area, Chang averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds per game, leading his team to a runner-up finish in Class A. As a sophomore, he was named to the Omaha World-Herald All-Metro and All-State teams.
After moving to Seattle for his senior season, Chang did not play basketball at Garfield High School. He signed with San Diego State and appeared in 13 games for the Aztecs before transferring to Salt Lake. He will have two years of eligibility at Missouri.
