Incoming University of Missouri running back Nathaniel Peat has been named to the 2022 Doak Walker Award Watch list on Wednesday afternoon. Peat is a native of Columbia returning to his home state university this year, after starting his collegiate career at Stanford. He graduated in 2019 from Rock Bridge High School.
Last season with the Cardinal, Peat rushed for 404 yards, averaging over five yards per carry. On special teams, Peat had 663 kickoff return yards to lead the Pac-12 Conference. He has been twice named as an All-Pac 12 kick returner by Phil Steele, a 2021 All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention sele3ction by Pro Football Focus, and a 2020 All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention by the league’s coaches.
Peat will have two years of eligibility to use at Mizzou, with the Tigers 2022 season opening on Thursday, September 1st against Louisiana Tech at Faurot Field in Columbia.
