The Missouri women are licking their wounds after a tough road trip to Indianapolis on Sunday, where the Tigers lost to IUPUI 73-45. Sophie Cunningham had 13 points and Cierra Porter 12 points for Missouri, marking the ninth consecutive double-digit scoring effort by Porter.
The Tigers struggled early, as a 16-5 run by the Indiana school put MU down 22-11. A 5-0 spurt coming out of halftime gave Missouri a bit of a spark, but a pair of hard-fought buckets by center Mikale Rogers stopped the momentum, and Mizzou went flat down the stretch.
Junior Danielle Lawrence posted a game-high 24 points for the winners. The Mizzou women return to Columbia to begin a four-game homestand, beginning tonight (Wednesday night) with a 7 o’clock tip against SIU-Edwardsville on SEC Network Plus.
