The University of Missouri women’s basketball program will play 13 non-conference games in the 2017-2018 season, tuning up for the program’s sixth campaign as a member of the Southeastern Conference.
The non-conference slate is highlighted by the Tigers appearance in the Big 12/SEC challenge, with Mizzou hosting the Kansas State Wildcats on November 30th, in the 83rd all-time meeting between the former conference rivals. As part of a four-game homestand, MU will host K-State, followed by New Orleans (December 2), Saint Louis (December 8), and SIU-Edwardsville (December 10).
Coach Robin Pingeton’s team will travel to Berkeley, California to play the Cal Classic, playing Coppin State on November 24th, and either Cal or Manhattan the following day. Mizzou will be in the West Palm (Florida) Invitational in mid-December, playing Indiana at 11 AM CT on December 17th and Xavier at 4 PM CT on December 18th.
Missouri will host exhibition affairs on November 2nd and 6th, followed by the regular season opener in Iowa City, Iowa against Western Kentucky on November 10th in the Hawkeye Challenge. The next day, Mizzou will take on either the host Iowa Hawkeyes or Quinnipiac. The home opener, against Wright State, is slated for November 16th, with a trip down Interstate 44 to Springfield to battle the Missouri State Bears on November 19th.
A meeting with Illinois at Mizzou Arena will wrap up non-conference play on Friday night, December 22nd, marking the first meeting between the border rivals since 2008.
