Mark Mitchell of Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas is one of the most highly-sought players in the high school basketball ranks in the Class of 2022, ranked #8 nationally by Rivals, #9 by 247Sports, and #17 by ESPN. In his latest recruiting update, Mitchell has said, via Twitter, that the University of Missouri Tigers are one of four finalists to receive his verbal commitment, with MU battling three blue-blood programs in their efforts.
The three other finalists attempting to win over Mitchell are the University of Kansas, Duke University, and the University of California – Los Angeles. Mitchell has visited all four of those campuses. In the process of making the weekend tweet, he eliminated the likes of Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Kentucky, and Arkansas from his final list.
