University of Missouri football coach Eliah Drinkwitz has named Brady Cook as the Tigers starting quarterback for the season opener against Louisiana Tech on Thursday, September 1st.
Cook started last December’s Armed Forces Bowl, and despite a loss to Army, played well, as the St. Louis native completed 27 of 34 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown, and ran for a touchdown with 53 yards total. He beat out transfer option Jack Abraham, true freshman Sam Horn, and Tyler Macon for the starting position at MU.
Last season, Cook played in five games, bringing his career total at Mizzou to eight, in a run lengthened by the 2020 free year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The third-year product has thrown for a total of 350 yards.
