The University of Missouri has added a pair of soon-to-be high school seniors as commitments for the Class of 2025. Four-star linebacker Dante McClellan of Canton, Ohio and three-star edge rusher Joshua Lewis of Geismar, Louisiana committed to head coach Eli Drinkwitz.
Lewis was the second commitment coming out of Monday, choosing Mizzou over Houston and Tulane and also holding offers from California, Georgia Tech and Oregon State.
The On3 Industry Ranking rates Lewis as the No. 684 prospect and 59th-best edge rusher in the country. The 6-5, 250-pound lineman earned first-team all-district and first-team all-state honors while helping lead Dutchtown High School to an 11-2 record in 2023.
The addition of Lewis and Dante McClellan boosted Missouri’s class to 42nd in Rivals’ team rankings with an average star ranking of 3.75. McClellan, a four-star linebacker, and Lewis represent the third and fourth commits in MU’s 2025 class, joining four-star quarterback Matt Zollers and four-star defensive tackle Jason Dowell.
McClellan, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker from Canton, Ohio, received offers from over 15 schools but ultimately chose Missouri over Michigan State, Tennessee, Kentucky and Louisville. He is rated as the nation’s No. 366 recruit and 39th-best linebacker, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Each announced their decisions on Instagram. McClellan led McKinley High School to a 9-4 record in 2023, recording 75 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, four sacks and an interception. His performance earned him a selection to the All-Ohio second team.
