The University of Missouri, earlier this week, were named as one of five schools still in the running for Michael Porter Jr., the senior-to-be who led Tolton Catholic High School to the Missouri Class 3 state basketball championship in March. Porter Jr. is rated the #2 basketball recruit nationwide in the Class of 2017. Joining Missouri on Porter’s list, via an Instagram post, were Indiana, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Washington.
The recruiting saga on Porter became much more interesting after his father, Michael Porter Sr., accepted an assistant coaching position at the University of Washington, where Porter Jr’s godfather, Lorenzo Romar, is the head coach. The Porter family, including Jontay Porter, who will be a 6-9 junior this fall, will be moving to Seattle. Jontay Porter has already made a verbal commitment to Washington, and many believe Washington will be the school to ultimately get Michael Porter Jr.
