The Mizzou football program has added transfers from the University of Mississippi, Florida State University, and Arizona State University, while also receiving news of a return for the Tigers starting left tackle, in a busy weekend for the program.
Former Ole Miss wide receiver Dannis Jackson began the stretch of positive news for MU on Saturday morning, committing to the Tigers via Twitter. Jackson did not play for the Rebels in 2022. In 2021, the junior had 12 catches for 244 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was a four-year recruit out of high school. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at Mizzou.
Later into Saturday, a St. Louis product who had begun his career in the Pac-12 Conference announced a return to his home state university, as Arizona State defensive end Joe Moore III committed to the University of Missouri. Moore, a graduate of Cardinal Ritter High School, played three seasons in Tempe. In 2022, he had 24 tackles and a pair of sacks for the Sun Devils. The move to Missouri involves a change of heart for Moore, who had verbally announced a transfer to the University of Washington in December.
Florida State defensive back Sidney Williams is transferring to Missouri, announced Saturday night via his Twitter account. Williams is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He amassed 66 tackles an an interceptions for three seasons with the Seminoles.
Coming back to Mizzou for a sixth season in the Tiger program is 2022 starting left tackle Javon Foster. Foster’s final season with Mizzou will now be 2023, as his return adds stability to a group that struggled through portions of a mediocre 2022 season for Coach Eli Drinkwitz.
