The Missouri basketball program has announced the addition to Campbell transfer forward Jesus Carralero, a native of Malaga, Spain who missed most of last season due to injury.
Carralero averaged 9.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in the 2021-2022 season at Campbell, becoming one of only three players in the country standing 6’8″ or taller averaging at least 3.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game that season.
He is the fifth signee via transfer for Mizzou this offseason, as On3 Portal rankings places the Tigers second in the country with that group. In addition to Carralero, Missouri is bringing in Indiana’s Tamar Bates, Iowa State’s Caleb Grill, JUCO D-1 player of the year Curt Lewis, and Colorado State’s John Tonje.
Missouri, through the incoming freshman class, is ranked in the Top 25, as Jordan Butler, Trent Pierce, and Anthony Robinson II have signed letters of intent, joining preferred walk-on’s JV Brown and Danny Stephens. MU did miss on one of its major transfer targets, as Florida State’s Matthew Cleveland chose Miami over Missouri and Auburn, announcing his decision on Sunday. Cleveland entered the portal after averaging 12.7 points and six rebounds per game in two seasons in Tallahassee.
