COLUMBIA, Mo. (MUTigers.com) – University of Missouri Women’s Basketball released its 2022-23 nonconference schedule on Monday, unveiling the opponents and dates of its 13-game slate.
Missouri begins head coach Robin Pingeton‘s 13th season at the helm on the road against Missouri State on Monday, Nov. 7th.
The Tigers will open the season’s home contests with a matchup against Bradley on Thursday, Nov. 10. In total, Missouri will play eight of their non-conference matchups at Mizzou Arena, including five in the month of November.
The tilt with the Braves will begin a four-game homestand as Southeast Missouri, Western Kentucky and Tennessee-Martin are all set to make early season stops through Columbia, Mo.
The Tigers will then travel to the Bahamas for the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship. Missouri will open the competition against Wake Forest on Nov. 21 and will conclude its trip against Virginia Tech on Nov. 23.
Following with championship, the Tigers will return home to face in-state foe St. Louis on Nov. 30th.
Pingeton’s group will begin their second and final nonconference road swing with a two-game trip to Tempe, Ariz. to compete in the Arizona State Classic. The Tigers will face UMass on Dec. 3, followed by the Sun Devils on Dec. 4.
Missouri will return home for a final tune-up before their Southeastern Conference slate with a pair of games against Nebraska-Omaha on Dec. 9 and Jackson State on Dec. 11.
The annual Braggin’ Rights showdown against Illinois on Sunday, Dec. 18 in Mizzou Arena will conclude the season’s nonconference campaign.
The Southeastern Conference announced its 2022-23 schedule on Wednesday, releasing the dates of Missouri Women’s Basketball’s 16-game league slate.
The Tigers will open conference play against Kentucky on Thursday, Dec. 29 at Mizzou Arena and will conclude their regular-season matchups at home against Florida on Sunday, Feb. 26.
The schedule features three home-and-home matchups against the Wildcats, Arkansas and Alabama.
Following the opener, Missouri will take a trip to Alabama to face Auburn and the Crimson Tide on Jan. 1 and Jan. 5, respectively.
The team will then return home to welcome Arkansas and LSU to Mizzou Arena. The Razorbacks will pay a visit on Jan. 8, while the Tigers from the west will arrive on Jan. 12.
On Sunday, Jan. 15, Missouri will head to South Carolina to face the reigning NCAA Champions. Head coach Robin Pingeton and her team handed the Gamecocks their only conference loss a season ago.
The Tigers will return home for another test against Tennessee on Jan. 22. The Lady Vols advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in March.
The team will round out the beginning of the new year with visits to Georgia on Jan. 26 and Kentucky on Jan. 29.
The month of February includes home matchups against Vanderbilt (Feb. 2), Alabama (Feb. 5), Mississippi State (Feb. 16) and Florida (Feb. 26) in addition to three road contests against Arkansas, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.
The 2023 SEC Tournament will be held March 1-5 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C.
