Freshman tight end Messiah Swinson, during Friday’s practice session in Columbia, tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee, leaving him out for the entire 2018 season at the University of Missouri.
The injury, confirmed by a team spokesperson, continues a troubling recent trend for the Tigers, who lost freshman tight end Logan Christopherson to a high ankle sprain in August 2017, forcing him into a redshirt season.
Missouri opens the 2018 season with a home date with Tennessee-Martin on Saturday, September 1st.
