The University of Missouri basketball program has another available scholarship to use for the 2020-2021 roster, as Axel Okongo, a 7-footer from France, has announced his intentions to transfer, leaving Mizzou after one season.
Okongo struggled to find his footing in Columbia, playing a grand total of just 30 minutes in the 2019-2020 season, appearing in eight games, with five points on 2-of-2 shooting. He had transferred to Missouri from the JUCO ranks in June 2019.
If Cuonzo Martin chooses to utilize the scholarship immediately, he may look for front-court help with depth and ability, with Missouri potentially thin on the front-lines, likely returning center Jeremiah Tilmon and 7-foot-3 center Jordan Wilmore as the two bigs for the 2020-2021 roster.
