The Missouri Tigers have announced the addition of 12 games to future MU football schedules, including four games against border rival Illinois, meaning the Tigers and the Illini will play in a series of eight games, running from 2026 to 2035, with a two-year break in 2030 and 2031.

The games with Illinois from 2032 to 2035 will not be played in St. Louis, but instead rotate home-and-home from Columbia to Champaign, with the Tigers at Illinois in 2032 and 2034, and the Big 10 side visiting the SEC side in 2033 and 2035.  Missouri and Illinois games from 2026 to 2029 are slated to be on the same home-and-home format.  The border rivals, who meet in St. Louis every December in a basketball game long-referred to as “Braggin’ Rights”, have not met on the gridiron since 2010, when Missouri won 23-13 at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.  Missouri leads the all-time series, 17-7.

In addition to the games with Illinois, Missouri Athletics announced games with Troy University (2026), Southeast Missouri State (2028, 2030), Northern Illinois (2028, 2029, 2030, 2031), and North Texas (2030).
