The number of changes to the football schedule at Milan High School this fall are immense. As a first-year member of the Grand River Conference, Milan no longer needs to fill two extra non-conference dates, which has been extremely challenging in recent years after the defection of Clark County and Brookfield from the Tri-Rivers Conference to the Clarence Cannon Conference.
As with other GRC teams, Milan will open the season with two non-conference games, then play seven GRC contests. The two non-conference contests for the Wildcats will be at Mark Twain High School in Center, Missouri on August 19th, followed by South Callaway High School visiting the Pit on August 26th.
The slate of games in the Grand River Conference for Milan will start with a visit from Princeton on September 2nd, then the annual rivalry game with Putnam County, as the Wildcats travel to Unionville to take on the Midgets on September 9th. The following week, Milan travels to Trenton to take on the Bulldogs (Trenton’s homecoming game) on September 16th.
Back-to-back home games wrap up the month of September, as Milan hosts Gallatin on the 23rd and South Harrison on the 30th. A third straight home game opens October, as the Polo Panthers visit the Pit on October 7th. The Wildcats wrap up the regular season on Friday, October 14th at Cemetery Bowl against the Maysville Wolverines.
The PAR Broadcast Group anticipates being able to broadcast six Milan games this fall, five on KTTN FM 92.3 and one (the game at Trenton) on Hot Country Z 101.7. KTTN-FM broadcasts will be Milan’s games at Mark Twain, Putnam County, and Maysville, along with the home dates with Princeton and Gallatin.
