The Milan Lady Wildcats hit turbulence in the 2017 softball season, after winning six games in a row, the Lady ‘Cats struggled in a 10-0 loss at Maysville on the final night of August, before blowing a 9-1 lead in a late innings on Tuesday night, in a 10-9 loss at South Harrison. Making matters more challenging for Milan is a toughening schedule that sees the likes of Trenton and North Harrison visiting Legion Field over the next week.
For the football Wildcats, hope springs eternal that a tough start to the season, with three losses in as many weeks, will see the Wildcats benefit from a tough stretch of games against strong foes in Mark Twain, South Callaway, and Princeton. Adding to the boost in spirits throughout the hallways at MHS is that the long-time rival from the north, the Putnam County Midgets, are at “The Pit” this Friday night, with both teams looking for their first win of the season. Friday night’s game can be heard live on KTTN FM 92.3.
The weekly Milan coaches interviews, with Sports Director Tom Johnson, originally aired at 5:35 on Thursday evening on KTTN.
