Milan High School will be aiming for a return to the top spot in the Grand River Conference in 2023, as the Wildcats face a challenging schedule that includes six GRC matchups, in addition to three non-conference battles in the first four weeks of the regular season.
The action kicks off with the Milan Football Jamboree on Friday, August 18th, with head coach Mark Cole able to get his team onto the field to showcase their skills against other local squads.
The regular season opener will send Milan to a tough squad in the Clarence Cannon Conference, as South Shelby’s Cardinals will host the Wildcats on August 25th. A second non-conference game will follow on September 1st, as St. Mary’s Academy of Kansas will visit Cal Hubbard Field.

The Grand River Conference slate will commerce for Milan with a matchup against the program’s biggest rival, as Putnam County travels to “The Pit” for a September 8th duel. With Princeton’s move from the 11-man Grand River Conference to the 8-man Grand River West, Milan was in need of a replacement for Week #4. That spot was filled the Harrisburg Bulldogs, with MHS hitting the road for that contest.
The final five weeks of the regular season will decide Milan’s final place in the 2023 GRC standings, as the Trenton Bulldogs pay a visit to Milan on September 22nd, with a trip to play the defending GRC champion Gallatin Bulldogs on September 29th.
October begins with a home date against the South Harrison Bulldogs on October 6th, followed by a road game at Polo on October 13th, and a Senior Night duel with Maysville on October 20th. District competition will open on Friday night, October 27th.
