The Milan Wildcats improved to 3-0 on the season with a 80-40 win over Knox County on Thursday night, advancing to the championship game of the first-ever Tri-Rivers Classic at Schuyler County High School. Milan went 2-0 in pool play, as did the Clark County Indians, putting the two former conference rivals opposite one another for the title game on Saturday night at 7 o’clock. Clark County clinched its spot in the final with a 59-26 win over Schuyler County on the final night of pool play.
The news for the Lady ‘Cats was not as positive coming out of Thursday night, as a weary Milan girls squad suffered their first loss of the season, 75-55 to Knox County. With a 1-1 record in pool play, Milan dropped into the fifth place game against Schuyler County, Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the Schuyler County Middle School gym. Milan, Knox County, and Scotland County all went 1-1 against one another in pool play, sending the decision for Pool 1 into the “13 point football playoff format”.
The Clark County Lady Indians beat Schuyler County on Thursday night, 57-44, moving Clark County into the 5 o’clock girls championship game against Scotland County on Saturday night.
