In the boys Class 2, Section 2 track and field meet on Saturday at South Shelby High School, Harrisburg placed first with 76 points, with Westran second at 65, Putnam County finished in a two-way tie for third place, with Milan eighth with 37 points.
Milan state qualifiers were Jeremy Bennett, finishing first in the long jump and triple jump and Nathan Keck, finishing first in the 3200 meter run. The Wildcat 4 by 200 meter relay team was fourth.
The girls Class 2, Section 2 meet at South Shelby was won by Tolton Catholic with 115 points. Brookfield was a distant second at 52 points. Putnam County was in a two-way tie for eighth place with 38 points.
Top four finishers in each event qualified from sectionals to advance to this coming weekend’s state championships.
