The Schuyler County girls and Putnam County boys took victories on Monday night, as the old Tri-Rivers Conference rivals met in a basketball doubleheader in Unionville. The Lady Rams won the opener, 53-38, with the Putnam County boys returning the favor, victorious by a margin of 67-44.
Two other former Tri-Rivers foes locked horns on Monday, with the Clark County Indians, playing on their home floor in Kahoka, sweeping away the visiting Knox County Eagles, with the girls final 46-33 and the boys result 45-39.
The Brashear girls, on a game-winning lay-up by Emily Mason late in the fourth quarter, upended Higbee 53-51, with the Brashear boys finishing the sweep with a 45-37 win.
The East Harrison Bobcats and Osborn Wildcats split a double-dip on Monday night, with the Lady Wildcats winning 41-30, while the East Harrison boys claimed a 54-40 victory.
The Benton Lady Cardinals, in MEC action, hammered Savannah 56-16, while the Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs beat Southwest Livingston 55-32. The Southwest Livingston boys grabbed an 81-41 win over the Bulldogs.
