The Mercer girls and Worth County boys, champions of the Class 1, District 14 tournaments hosted by North Harrison High School in late February, have three players each named All-District first team.
For the state champion Lady Cardinals, seniors Bailey Owens, Lindsay Wyatt, and Nicole Kost were named to the squad, joined by Gilman City senior Hailey Burrows and North Harrison’s Payton Craig.
The girls All-District second team consists of Worth County freshmen Regan Allee, Anna Gladstone, and Kristin New; Pattonsburg junior Katie Warford; and North Harrison junior Brandy Rivet.
The Worth County boys, who beat Mercer in the district final on February 24th, placed three juniors on the 1st team, in Drake Kinsella, Cade Allee, and Ryan McClellan. Mercer’s senior tandem of Bryer Noe and Cash Hartley complete the squad.
The boys second teamers are all juniors, with Pattonsburg’s Peyton Jones and Cole Dilley, Gilman City’s Cornelius Peery, East Harrison’s Ethan Claycomb, and Worth County’s Mason Hawk.
