Fourteen of the sixteen schools in the Grand River Conference will be in conference play on Friday night, with the Putnam County Midgets hosting Green City in non-conference games, while the Milan Wildcats play in the girls and boys consolation finals at the Marceline Hoops Classic.
The PAR Broadcast Group will offer radio coverage of Friday night’s GRC Eastern Division doubleheader, with the South Harrison Bulldogs at the Princeton Tigers, on KTTN FM 92.3, while the Trenton Bulldogs, celebrating “Courtwarming 2017”, will host the Maysville Wolverines on KGOZ-TV. Also in the GRC East tonight, the Gallatin Bulldogs make the trek down Highway 13 to Polo, for doubleheader action with the Panthers.
In the Grand River Conference’s Western Division, the Worth County boys, coming off an upset win over #1 ranked (MBCA Class 2) Stanberry on Tuesday night, will welcome the Braymer Bobcats to Grant City. The Braymer boys will enter ranked #8 in Class 1. The varsity girls game gets the doubleheader started at 6 o’clock. Elsewhere, the King City Wildkats head to Albany, North Andrew plays host to the Pattonsburg Panthers, and the Stanberry Bulldogs welcome St. Joseph Christian to the SHS gymnasium.
Most GRC squads, after tonight’s games, will shift focus to tournament play, with a large number of tournaments starting on Monday. Princeton, Putnam County, and Maysville will be in the South Harrison Tournament and Trenton and Gallatin in the Lawson Tournament, Milan hosts its annual tournament, while Polo and Pattonsburg are at the Osborn Tournament. St. Joseph Christian will be in the Fairfax Tournament, North Andrew, Albany, Worth County, and King City at the Stanberry Tournament, and Braymer at the Lathrop Tournament.
