The Kansas City Chiefs ended a two-game losing skid behind the dynamic right arm of Patrick Mahomes, as the All-Pro quarterback threw five touchdown passes, three of those to Tyreek Hill, in a 42-30 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
The victory is the 100th as coach of the Chiefs for Andy Reid, making him the first coach in NFL history to win triple-digits in games with two different franchises, as he was fired in Philadelphia after leading the team to 140 wins.
Second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for 387 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Eagles, as the Chiefs defense continues to appear leaky through four games.
Mahomes appeared to be on a mission from the opening kickoff to get Kansas City back in the win column, throwing scoring passes of the underhanded, overhanded, and shovel variety, finishing with 278 yards passing, with Hill catching 11 passes for 186 yards.
Jody Fortson had a two-yard touchdown catch for Kansas City, with Darrel Williams adding a one-yard touchdown run, as Kansas City, now 2-2, moved to within one game of the Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos for the AFC West lead.
