Lathrop, Mid-Buchanan advance to District 16 title game

The Lathrop Mules claimed a topsy-turvy victory over the Trenton Bulldogs on Tuesday night, scoring six runs in the top of the 7th inning to defeat the #2 seeds by a score of 12-7 in the semifinals of Class 3, District 16 baseball. 

Trenton struggled early in the contest, with the Mules, playing on their home field, taking a 6-1 lead through 5 1/2 innings.  THS scored six runs in the bottom of the 6th to storm into the lead, only to see Lathrop answer with six runs in the top of the 7th.

The win sends Lathrop into the District 16 championship game on Thursday night at 5 o’clock against top-seeded Mid-Buchanan, as the Dragons crushed East Buchanan in the first semifinal of the night, 9-1.
