The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs broke open a pitchers duel with five runs in the top of the 5th inning, turning a 1-0 Trenton lead into a 5-1 GHS advantage. The visitors added an insurance run in the top of the 7th, winning at Trenton High School’s Mark Griffin Field on Thursday night, 6-1.
Gallatin’s pitching was strong, holding Trenton to just three hits. Both teams committed a pair of errors. Jena Harris scored the only run for Trenton, on a solo home run. Mirena King had a triple but was left stranded on the bases.
Avery Clark went the full seven innings for Trenton, and while taking the loss, did pitch well, allowing eight hits and six runs, but all six Gallatin tallies were unearned. Clark threw 102 pitches, 66 for strikes. Gallatin took the JV contest 11-4.
