The Chillicothe Lady Hornets, bolstered by a pair of 42’s turned in by Hallie Jones and Riley Brobst, won a three-team golf triangular on Thursday afternoon at the Green Hills Golf Course, with the Lady Hornets team score of 188 well ahead of the 225 of runner-up Putnam County and the 231 turned in by the Trenton Lady Bulldogs.
Trenton High School senior Werthen Gass shot 43, good for third place overall, just one stroke behind Jones and Brobst, while Putnam County’s top score, a pair of 51’s, came from Delaney Munden and Molly Parker.
Trenton Coach Travis Mullenix, in comments on the rounds of Gass and Oakley Madden (shot a 57), told KTTN Sports, “Werthen played OK, but just wasn’t striking the ball well throughout her round. Oakley had a real good day. Hopefully she can build on this and get to where she needs to be. It’s a good start and I think it will give her some confidence moving forward.”
