The Trenton Lady Bulldogs’ volleyball program appears to be on the brink of a potential upswing in its performance level, buoyed by robust participation and a substantial senior class backbone, instilling a sense of optimism for coach Brad Ewald and his team.
With a gathering of 25 young athletes in the gym on Friday morning, and further additions anticipated as the regular season commences in late August, Coach Ewald engaged in a conversation with KTTN Sports Director Tom Johnson within the confines of the THS gymnasium. The dialogue began with an exploration of Trenton’s prospects for enhanced offensive potency at the net in the upcoming fall season:
The regular season kickoff for THS involves a two-game sojourn away from home, as they embark on a trip to Cameron to face the Dragons on Monday, August 28th, followed by a clash with Brookfield on Tuesday, August 29th. Subsequently, Trenton’s inaugural home match of the season is slated for Thursday, August 31st, where they will host archrivals, the Chillicothe Hornets.
Marking notable dates in the team’s schedule, the Lady Bulldogs are set to participate in the Lexington Tournament on Saturday, September 9th, followed by the Lathrop Invitational on Saturday, September 16th, and the Carrollton Tournament on Saturday, September 30th. The culmination of the regular season will witness Trenton in a home encounter against St. Joseph Christian on Monday, October 16th.
