The KCI Conference’s basketball tournament in Plattsburg has reached its final day, with the boys third place game, and girls and boys championship games, set to be played tonight (Friday night).
On Thursday night, the host Plattsburg Lady Tigers won the consolation final on their home floor, downing the rival Lathrop Lady Mules, 49-44. Winning the boys consolation honors were the Lathrop Mules, courtesy of a 56-49 triumph over the East Buchanan Bulldogs. The third place girls team, rebounding from a 23 point loss to Class 2 state-ranked Mid-Buchanan in the semifinals, are the Penney Lady Hornets, as the Hamilton girls beat North Platte, 57-48.
Friday night will open with the Hamilton boys in action, playing the Plattsburg Tigers for third place at 5 o’clock. Both Mid-Buchanan teams are in the conference championship game, with the Lady Dragons taking on East Buchanan in the girls title tilt at 6:30, with the Lawson Cardinals providing the boys competition for the Dragons at 8 o’clock.
