The Kansas City Mavericks have announced an agreement with the National Hockey League’s newest franchise, the Seattle Kraken. The multi-year deal will make the Mavericks an affiliate for the Kraken in the ECHL, and connect Kansas City with Seattle’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
The Mavericks, who play their home games at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, are owned at Lamar Hunt Jr., son to the late founder of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Mavericks will begin their 14th season in operation on Saturday, October 22nd, hosting the Tulsa Oilers at 7:05.
