An up-and-down first half of the Major League Soccer (MLS) season has been frustrating for fans and players of Sporting Kansas City alike, but the perennially strong franchise is making a move to bolster its roster, and hopefully, help make a run at another championship.
The Kansas City Star, citing a source close to the team, is reporting that Sporting KC has agreed to terms with Honduran international player Ever Alvarado. The 24-year old is no longer under contract with his former team in Honduras (Club Deportivo Olimpia), leaving him eligible to sign in MLS and not forcing a transfer fee to Sporting to secure his rights. His style of play is said to be similar to that of Sporting KC midfielder Roger Espinoza, like Alvarado a native of Honduras.
Sporting KC is coming off a 2-0 victory on Sunday against FC Dallas, and the franchise could remain active in July, with a transfer window leaving additional opportunities to add to the roster.
